Jagun means “birthing place” in traditional Gumbaynggirr language. This painting represents the traditional Gumbaynggirr birthing caves down at Valla beach in NSW, where our ancestors gave birth and delivered their babies. Above these birthing caves is a symbol that represents the women gathering to share their wisdom and support for one another.
This painting not only represents the birth of a child, but also the birth of a new you... a new version of oneself, a shift in consciousness and a new beginning. It carries with it a beautiful essence of abundance and love.
