This painting is inspired by a special place called Gurryjuuga which means honey suckle. It's on the Orara River in Northern rivers NSW. Miirlarl means 'special place'.
This place was made by our Gumbayngirr hero ancestor back in the dreaming and hold sacred meaning, anyone visiting this area must speak to the Miirlarl and the hero ancestors and ask permission to be there.
