The painting
is called Nyami meaning woman/girl in Gumbaynggirr.
It represents the cycles and re-birth of a woman’s life during the stages
from adolescence to womanhood.
The intricacies of life along the way, it’s about untangling the tangled and embracing change and living a life wholeheartedly and rising up to be the best version of oneself.
The big circles represent a meeting place, connection and heart centre.
The deep red caves are ancient birthing caves.
The circles at the bottom are all the intricate moments a young woman has in her journey through womanhood.
