Gaagal Marrall is inspired by the many intricate colours found in the ocean. The changing colours of the tide, the sea creatures and rock formations, coral and seaweed. It tells a story of the connection between human life and the Gaagal. For Gumbaynggirr people, the ocean is our totem and it brings us healing and grounding energy. It is also a place where we meet, fish for food and tell stories.
