National Indigenous Fashion Awards!

We are beyond excited to announce that our outerwear collaboration with Unreal Fur has won the 'Community Collaboration' award at the National Indigenous Fashion Awards!

This award holds a special place in our hearts because a central focus of this collaboration was our commitment to giving back to the community. We dedicated a portion of the profits from each jacket to help build a new classroom at the Giingana Gumbaynggirr Freedom School, the first bilingual Aboriginal language school in NSW. This incredible initiative ensures our young mob are immersed in Aboriginal culture and language daily, ensuring cultural pride and connection to country, culture and language.

The jackets in this collection are not just wearable works of art; they carry a piece of our culture and commitment to community. From the unique designs to the thoughtful integration of our cultural artwork, each piece is a testament to the meaningful collaboration between our Miimi & Jiinda team and Unreal Fur.

A huge thank you to Indigenous Fashion Projects and the National Indigenous Fashion Awards for this beautiful recognition. What an amazing event and opportunity to come together as a community on Larrakia Country and celebrate the excellence and innovation of Australia's First Nations people in fashion and textiles.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the collection yet, limited stock is still available! Head over to https://unrealfur.com.au/collections/miimi-jiinda-x-unreal-fur to explore the range.
