‘YARILLA BAALYA’ DRESS AT DAVID JONES MUSEUM
Our ‘Yarilla Baalya’ Indigenous-inspired wedding dress is being exhibited in the David Jones Archive exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum.
More than just a dress; its platform for storytelling, deeply personal and meaningful. Hand-painted on cotton calico, a special feature of the dress is the depiction of our traditional birthing caves.
It is on display at the former David Jones Art Gallery in their Elizabeth Street store in Sydney until 25 August 2024.
