Miimi & Jiinda was born from the loving connection and shared creativity of a Gumbaynggirr mother and daughter. Founder Melissa is the artist and fashion designer, creating hand-painted original artworks that are transformed into both fine art pieces and high-end, sustainable clothing. By printing her artwork directly onto fabric, she brings her designs to life as wearable art, blending storytelling with contemporary style.
Lauren, a master weaver, plays an integral role by crafting intricate adornments that complement Melissa’s designs on the runway, adding texture and depth to each piece. While she occasionally creates artworks, her primary focus is on her weaving projects and sharing her cultural knowledge as a respected Gumbaynggirr Elder. Her guidance and deep connection to culture are at the heart of Miimi & Jiinda, shaping the stories they tell through their art and design.
Together, they create collections that celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and connection, offering a unique fusion of fine art and fashion.

After a minor issue, Abe and Melissa went above and beyond. When Natasha opened her very own original piece, her face beamed with joy. The finished product was beautiful beyond what we had envisaged! Little tears appeared in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. This has been an enormous month for her and having her own piece of Miimi and Jinda artwork (to go with all her linen!) has been the icing on the cake. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💙.

I bought the Baarlu swimsuit and I love love love it!. The colours are so vibrant, it is even more beautiful in real life. The fabric is lovely and thick, really high quality and lined all the way, it feels amazing like a second skin. The cut is really flattering, the more I wear the more I love it ♡♡♡
